Denmark Still Performs Well Despite Low 3G Penetration & Broadband Quality
Denmark’s performance on the 2010 Connectivity Scorecard is still consistently excellent. It has high penetration of business broadband and a robust electronic transaction infrastructure indicated by the high score on the penetration rate of secure servers. It also does very well on Business usage and skills with a large proportion of enterprise turnover arising from electronic transactions. Denmark scores well in Consumer usage and skills, with strong residential PC penetration while high online banking usage is indicative of the large proportion of frequent internet users in the adult population.
Another top scoring position claimed by Denmark is in government infrastructure, with Broadband to schools doing well, as well as the usage of e-government services.
There are a few areas where improvement would be welcome. Consumer infrastructure still suffers from low 3G penetration as was highlighted last year. New metrics that highlight broadband quality could also be improved as well as business related PC penetration.

Today it is 10 years since Frank Rasmussen launched Telmore. Telmore is a shining icon on how to create a successful MVNO that in record time revolutionised the whole way mobile telephony is sold.
Telmore’s results speak for themselves. Today, Telmore has a market share of 14 percent, 740,000 customers in Denmark, a significantly lower churn than the rest of the market and an annual turnover of over 1.131 billion DKK. The company has around 140 employees and is generating a handsome return on investment for their owners. Telmore is what you could call a cost efficient moneymaking machine, that only requires a few resources to achieve what many mobile operators can only dream of achieving. The Telmore concept is not only about inexpensive prices, but just as much about positive customer experiences and an extremely high level of customer satisfaction that you can read more about here: [LINK]
The story of Telmore is the story about how one man had a dream of making a difference in the mobile world by selling SIM cards and mobile traffic via the Internet, in the same way that airline companies and hotels today market and sell their services.

SOURCE: SONOMIO
The New Danish MVNO Company, Sonomio which went live a few days has given us, the Prepaid MVNO website an update on their services and solutions. Sonomio is supported on the TDC network and has appointed Anette Buus as the Managing Director, with the co-founder is Tege Rasmussen.
Here we go: Sonomio was created by a group of Telco professionals, who had all experienced how the Danish mobile communications market had deteriorated from a customer perspective.
The market has increasingly been dominated by the providers trying to offer the lowest per minute rate and the recovering the lost revenue by charging all kinds of extra costs and tariffs to the customers, e.g. you pay to become a customer, you pay to pay your bill, you pay to see your bill, you pay if activity is low, you pay if you lose your sim-card and I could continue, The Danish Consumer Board has published that there are more than 50 different charges among the Danish mobile providers. At the same time many of the providers have changed from per second to per minute rating, most are also charging for call attempts, whether successful or not.
At Sonomio, we do not have any such charges and tariffs, all our prices are show clear and open, we do obviously offer services provided by 3′rd parties, such as our MNO, which is TDC, who for example provides our international termination and roaming. I such cases do we offer the exact same price as our supplier and the prices are simple and easy to find on the we site.
Our key values and USP’s if you will are:
-Transparency
-Simplicity
-Honesty
-No hidden costs or tariffs
-No contracts or binding periods
And in addition we are doing our absolute best to be CO₂ neutral. The best way to do that would obviously be to ask our suppliers to use CO₂ free power, however that was not feasible; we therefore decided to buy CO₂ quotas corresponding to the amount of energy spent by our customers and informed by our suppliers, most importantly by TDC and in addition buy CO₂ free power for our own office.
We are aware that this is not the ideal solution; however we find that this is as far as we could get in our attempt to become CO₂ neutral.
