The French group is planning on expanding its services into South America as an MVNO, beginning with a new strategy for emerging markets without spending allot of money.
“Do more with less, is the new credo of Orange.”
The operator is currently present in 32 countries, and wants to expand into new markets, but the company has a debt of € 30.5 billion. Asked recently about the possibility and interest in Morocco Telecom, Stéphane Richard replied: “Too expensive”? Orange is now focusing on its brand, and targeting Africa, South America & the Middle East markets, where it has no network and does not intend to create one, but wants to utilises MVNO as a medium.
Horizons is a new division of Orange and was founded in January 2013. The division has embarked on reviewing South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
