Citizen Capital Invests 2.5 million in French MVNO Bazile Telecom

The company offers telecommunications services for seniors and is aiming to sign up 50 000 subscribers over the next four years.

Citizen Capital fund has made an investment into Bazile Telecom of €2.5 million for the MVNO service dedicated to senior citizens. In addition to its MVNO activity, which uses Orange(s) network, the company also offers TV and a concierge service(s) specific to seniors. The company boasts that it has 10,000 subscribers with a turnover of € 2 million in 2012, which was an increase of 130% compared to 2011.

The new investment will allow the company to reach its target of 50,000 subscribers over the next 4 years and expand its services by adding telehealth around that Bazile Telecom appoints “gérontechnologies.”

Bazile Telecom completed its first round of Investment in 2010 and was financed by Nexicap Partners and Alto Invest Partners, who financed € 3.7 million.

Bazile Telecom’s story began in 2005 with a simplified mobile phone, the Prestige Bazile. This mobile phone had no screen nor keyboard just a single button. The phone has an associated services available 24 hours / 24. In July 2009, Bazile Telecom became the first dedicated mobile telephone operator to senior citizens in France .Since December 2009, Bazile Telecom offers a range of services dedicated to seniors, all based on the combination of a simplified telephone (Bazile, or Doro handsets).
