Heywood reckons the challenge for service providers this year will be to converge services and develop ones that offer a hassle-free experience that people expect2012 was the year in which the tablet market really took hold – consumers are much savvier about the benefits of these devices and expect to be able to sync them with their mobiles, online and increasingly with their TVs.
Mobile tariffs are playing an important role in bringing this multi-platform experience to life and people increasingly expect unlimited tariffs that help them to get the most out of the amazing handsets available today.
Competition in this area is certainly hotting up, with online services like Virgin TV Anywhere, Zeebox and LoveFilm Instant, but there’s still a way to go. The 2013 challenge for service providers will be converging sometimes complicated, disparate services and developing solutions that offer the cohesive, hassle-free experience people are looking for.
