Devicescape provides Wi-Fi offloading to MVNO Flash Wireless

Devicescape said its Wi-Fi offload service will be used by MVNO Flash Wireless to help manage data costs and maintain competitive data pricing.

Flash Wireless customers will have automatic access to more than 11 million Wi-Fi hotspots in Devicescape’s Curated Virtual Network (CVN). Devicescape’s curated list includes free, public hotspots that have been vetted as strong, reliable and popular connections. Devicescape uses crowdsourced information from its users to get real-time data on the performance of hotspots.

Flash Wireless provides service on two national U.S. networks, Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) and Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ). Its Flash Wireless (s) and Flash Wireless (v) services each have their own calling plans and features, pricing and compatible devices.

The MVNO is affiliated with network marketing company ACN, which bills itself as the “world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications and essential services for residential and business customers.”
