The Vedomosti newspaper reported, cited by Telecompaper that Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom (Beeline) has completed negotiating a contract with mobile broadband operator Scartel (Yota) for accessing Yota’s 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO),
Rival cellco MegaFon already offers commercial LTE MVNO services over the network of Yota, which has also reportedly forged an MVNO agreement with the other of the ‘big three’ Russian mobile operators, MTS.
In September, CommsUpdate reported that Vimpelcom had received approval for the LTE MVNO tie-up with Yota, which this week also announced that it will be launching its own-brand LTE smartphone.
