French MVNO La Poste offers matching funds to new mobile apps

French MVNO La Poste Mobile has announced results of its second Do It Yourself Android app development contest in partnership with Banque Postale, Kiss Kiss Bank Bank and Frandroid.

The competition requires the two finalists, Foxypins and Minimal Reader, to raise EUR 2,500 before receiving a matching amount from Banque Postale and being pre-loaded on smartphones sold by La Poste Mobile.

Foxypins is a free mobile app still under development that promises to detect all types of events around you, displaying them in map form though personalised drawing pins. Users add events to their diary, signal their presence, book tickets and see a list of participants.

It recognises contacts on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Foxypins plans to launch on Google Play. Minimal Reader provides a pop-up function for personalised RSS feeds via widgets.
