Over 50% of Austrians use mobile internet – study

The use of mobile data services by Austrian consumers has grow by one fifth over the last 12 months, with over 50 percent (52%) of Austrians now accessing the internet using a handset or mobile modem, according to the latest Austrian Internet Monitor Consumer Report from research company Integral.

General web browsing (42%) is the most popular mobile internet activity, followed by accessing the latest news and weather reports (37% each), sending and receiving e-mail (36%), sending MMS messages (31%), planning journeys (30%), using social networks (29%), and looking up addresses and phone numbers (29%).
