Virgin Mobile Latin America (VMLA) has selected Datora to launch its MVNO in Brazil, Teletime reports, citing Datora CEO Wilson Otero.
“We will not be mere advisers to Virgin. We will be partners and we will work together”, Otero added. VMLA and Datora have set up a working group that will establish the MVNO’s business plan for the next two to four months.
According to Otero, the decisions that need to be taken in the pre-implementation phase include: the choice of mobile network that will be used to provide services on the local market, the definition of a platform for integration with the partner operator.
Virgin’s MVNO unit will also have to decide if it will use Datora’s already existing MVNO license or request a new one from Brazilian telecoms regulator Anatel.
