In an interview with “Les Echoes”, Geoffroy Roux de Bezieux, President of Omea Telecom, explains Virgin Mobile’s new Strategy.Virgin Mobile France current has 2 million subscribers and is the number 1 MVNO in France has been using Orange’s network for the last seven years, has signed a contract with SFR which will allow it to install its own equipment directly in SFR’s network, according to Les Echos article.
According to the president of Omea Telecom, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, in an interview with Les Echos, the deal will allow the company to set its own prices since it will take over control of the SIM card and the subscribers. He added that Omea Telecom will invest “several tens of millions of euros” in its services, and also plans to offer quad-play services in collaboration with SFR from 2012.

Mr. Geoffroy Roux de Bezieux is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Virgin Mobile France. He is also the Co-Founder of Internet Savvy & Active Investors. Mr. de Bezieux serves as President of BudgeTelecom. He served as Chief Operating Officer, European Distribution of Carphone Warehouse Group PLC from 2003 to 2006. Mr. de Bezieux joined Carphone in 1996. He is responsible for the Group’s European distribution business. He was UK Marketing Director for L’Oreal and Managing Director of L’Oreal’s Polish operations between 1994 and 1996. He held various positions at L’Oréal from 1986 to 1996. Since 2006, he has been Chairman and Founder of Virgin Mobile. Mr. de Bezieux serves as a Director at BudgeTelecom, Micromania, Sporever, Parrot, Association Fraçaise des Opérateurs Mobiles (AFOM). He served as a Director of Nocibé, Fromagerie Plus. He served as an Executive Director of Carphone Warehouse Group PLC from June 2000 to April 2006. He serves as Chairman of Supervisory Board of BudgeTelecom. He serves as Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Seloger.com. He has been a Member of Supervisory Board of PSA Peugeot Citroen since May 23, 2007. He was the President of the Croissance Plus association since 2005. He graduated from the ESSEC business school.
