Dutch MVNO Youfone has absorbed the customers of Amatus Communications effective from the 1st of March, numbering a few thousand with no financial details been disclosed.
Amatus will continue to operate under the name LibertyCom, and position itself as an alternative telecom provider, which, according to the Web site, will use its own fibre network. The company LibertyCom will offer customers a mobile application which will route calls to its network. The app runs on Symbian S60 (Nokia and Samsung) and Blackberry OS 4.5. It will soon also be available for iPhones, Windows Mobile and Android devices, the website said. LibertyCom will like Amatus Mobile focus on mobile phone users outside of the country.

Amatus Communications focus on international calling services and for customers who require a travel SIM card, utilising Telforts network, which is a subsidiary of KPN.

In Oct’10, the Dutch courts ruled that Youfone were bankrupt and have called in an administrator. Presently service is still Live.
