Television company RTL Nederland and mobile phone firm Vodafone are launching a new mobile phone brand targeting women aged 20 to 40, the Financieele Dagblad reports.
The two companies declined to say what the new service is being called. It will be formally launched in February. The new service aims to attract 100,000 users, the paper said.
RTL and Vodafone already work together on tv talent show The Voice of Holland and there are other ideas in the pipeline, RTL director Bert Habets told the paper.
Vodafone Netherlands CEO, Jens Schulte-Bockum on the agreement: “I am very pleased to partner with a strong media party like RTL. Mobile is gaining strength in our daily lives and people are increasingly supplementing TV screen and PC with mobility. That makes it an interesting market for both parties. With this partnership we are able to access RTL’s content which allows a more specific and direct approach to our audiences with targeted propositions. ”

RTL Group is Europe’s second largest TV, radio and production company after the BBC, and is majority-owned by German media conglomerate Bertelsmann.
