French tiple-play operator Dartybox has informed its customers (via email) that they will launch a new French MVNO Service in February 2011. The service will be knows as Darty Mobile and will first be offered as an exclusively product to existing Dartybox customers at launch. Dartybox state’s that the first 5,000 customers will be able to subscribe to a special promotional discount, which presently has not been announced. Darty Mobile, will be hosted on SFR‘s network, reports Les Mobiles without citing its sources. The website states that in early November Darty acquired the assets of planned MVNO Fluiid, owned by CoFiTel, a company founded by former SFR director of strategy Cedric Curtil. Darty Mobile is basing its offer on Fluiid’s project, but the Fluiid brand remains the property of CoFiTel.
Furthermore, Darty has stated that the service will be similar to that of Numericable.
