Sonomio Danish MVNO Update

The New Danish MVNO Company, Sonomio which went live a few days has given us, the Prepaid MVNO website an update on their services and solutions. Sonomio is supported on the TDC network and has appointed Anette Buus as the Managing Director, with the co-founder is Tege Rasmussen.

Here we go: Sonomio was created by a group of Telco professionals, who had all experienced how the Danish mobile communications market had deteriorated from a customer perspective.

The market has increasingly been dominated by the providers trying to offer the lowest per minute rate and the recovering the lost revenue by charging all kinds of extra costs and tariffs to the customers, e.g. you pay to become a customer, you pay to pay your bill, you pay to see your bill, you pay if activity is low, you pay if you lose your sim-card and I could continue, The Danish Consumer Board has published that there are more than 50 different charges among the Danish mobile providers. At the same time many of the providers have changed from per second to per minute rating, most are also charging for call attempts, whether successful or not.

At Sonomio, we do not have any such charges and tariffs, all our prices are show clear and open, we do obviously offer services provided by 3′rd parties, such as our MNO, which is TDC, who for example provides our international termination and roaming. I such cases do we offer the exact same price as our supplier and the prices are simple and easy to find on the we site.

And in addition we are doing our absolute best to be CO₂ neutral. The best way to do that would obviously be to ask our suppliers to use CO₂ free power, however that was not feasible; we therefore decided to buy CO₂ quotas corresponding to the amount of energy spent by our customers and informed by our suppliers, most importantly by TDC and in addition buy CO₂ free power for our own office.
We are aware that this is not the ideal solution; however we find that this is as far as we could get in our attempt to become CO₂ neutral.

Danmark 5: 300 minutes included, otherwise as mentioned above DKK 169/month
Danmark 10: 600 minutes included, otherwise as mentioned above DKK 299/month
Danmark 20: 1200 minutes included, otherwise as mentioned above DKK 399/month

Data: (3G)
0.5GB: 0.5 Gb included, 1Mb/s downlink DKK 49/month
additional usage is charged DKK 0.50 per MB, rated per initiated KB
1GB: 1GB included, 1Mb/s download otherwise as mentioned above DKK 99/month
10GB: 10GB included, 2Mb/s download, otherwise as mentioned above DKK 179/month
15GB: 15 GB included, 15 Mb/s download, otherwise as mentioned above DKK 299/month
